Riding to the West side

Headed down the hill towards Aspen now...

Stopped on the other side of Aspen near a stream to cool down for a bit...




The water was cold as Hell and felt great..

Paonia Reservoir had a few boaters on it. I would have traded the bike for a boat at this point - it was getting hot again....

Late in the afternoon and Neil's bike is showing an outside air temp of 113F.
We're in Hotchkiss, CO now and need to haul some butt to make the hotel for the night....

My wife has flown out to Denver a few days prior to us and will be meeting us in Gateway, CO at a resort that we like to go to....

Out of the bike gear, showers and into the bar in about 16 minutes. Not a record, but a respectable time...

Gateway is a cool place. Although they did away with their gas station and c-store this year. They hope to put in a new one up the road but are getting some resistance from a few locals about it. Nearest fuel is 48 miles south...

Scored a nice suite with private hottub and patio...

They did away with a lot of the parking spaces since last year.

Next day and we take a quick blast down the canyon road...

We are riding to Telluride for a quick lunch. It' s about 150 miles each way, but it's a great ride...

And we wheel into Telluride...

Food choices kinda sucked in town, so we headed up to a ski lodge on the hill overlooking town for lunch...
