    saddle bag shims '05 R1200RT

Hello all, I have an 05 RT, the saddle bags have a fair amount of shake at speed, so I bought the shims to take up the slop. My question: how to install them? anyone?

I did the same thing and they won't work if you have an early model 2005. BMW changed the design of the side case tab slider and the mount. I started down the path of changing everything out but the luggage mounts are too expensive.

I have a 2008 R1200R and noticed the bags were getting a bit loose. I drilled a hole through the lower bag mount tab and the bike's hardware and inserted a safety-pin type locking pin that secures the bag in position. Just remember to remove the pin before trying to remove the bag.

    Welcome to the MOA forums!

Please read: http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46055 - this obviously applies since there were changes made to the saddlebag mounts on the R1200xx series of bikes. I'm adding the info to your thread title.

Please add that info to thread titles in future postings to the tech forums!

    Thanks for your cooperation.
