Replacing foot peg r1200rt

Is there any trick to putting the stock foot pegs back on a 2007 RT? I'm taking my sport boards off and can't remember how the pegs go back on. The spring part worries me. Is there a diagram that someone can help me find?

The spring is just to keep it from folding up like the rear pegs. There's no tension until you lift up on it.

There's is just a C-clip on the shaft - #11 but not really shown in the diagram.
