    RT Running on one cylinder

I'm looking for some help for a buddy of mine at the National Rally. His '04 R1200RT battery failed en route to the rally. He nursed it to the rally site and in the process of replacing the battery, he broke a fuel line quick disconnect. Gateway BMW had the disconnect and he replaced it. Problem: now only the left cylinder runs until about 4,000 rpm when the right cylinder kicks in. I've asked him if the plug is wet on right side, but I don't know the answer yet. Any thoughts? Suggestions?

    Thanks in advance, Bob

Check the throttle cable and make sure it's properly aligned and seated in the TB. I had a similar issue with my 04 GS and aligning it solved the problem.

    RT Issue

Thanks. I passed that on to my buddy in Sedalia. He talked to Paul Glaves at the rally who also feels they may have "bumped" something loose during the repair process. Bob

    RT Fuel Issue

Problem solved. Thanks arthurdent, it was the throttle cable. The right side cables were "pinched" and could not respond to throttle input. When my buddy removed the tupperware to inspect, it was clear the cables could not function properly. He's back in STL and will return to FL tomorrow on the RT. Thanks again. Bob

    Exclamation RT fuel lines

Thanks to all who helped Bob...and relayed to me.......we were sloppy in our haste (hey it was HOT!!)....those fuel line MUST be tie-wrapped so they do NOT interfere with the throttle cable on TB...cylinder was at idle the whole 200 miles...could not respond to throttle demands...FWIW...bike ran well @ 60 mph, 4K rpms .....'fraid I pi$$ed off a few folks with my low speed & flashers tho'
