How do Wilbur's compare in that mix?
I think Wilburs and works are comparable. There will be people posting that know more details.

i have a Wilbers up front, and an Ollie in the back. really can't comment on "better", both are excellent shocks, at comparable (but worth it, imo) prices.
Ride Safe, Ride Lots
There are a variety of shocks available. In addition to what has already been mentioned Hagon, Penske and Elka also offer good value for money. Get the best shocks you can afford.
Head to the rally and look for a deal. You don't often see sales on the good shocks for your bike. Ohlins and Wilbers are top of the line replacements.

Rich,
Shoot me a pm. I have a pair of Ohlins (rebuilt) that will fit an RT. They will not fit an RS. Don't ask how I know.

$800 is a fair price for a set of used Ohlins or Wilburs. If you buy a set from a breaker or ones of unknown condition 600 maybe 650. The 1100RT and 1150RT have the same front shock. The rear shock won't interchange. Fall and winter are a good time to pick up on deals, or a high mileage breaker bike with a lot of after market farkles.
The rear shock is the important one on the RT. Besides giving a better ride it does a lot for handling as well.
