In the outer pocket of the bmw pannier bag, which rides in the right side pannier just above the cd changer. This bag is dedicated to important/emergency items such as, reg/ins, rope, first aid kit, tire puncture repair kit, tp, change of "pants", etc.

On the little bike, in a ziplock, next to the battery. It is an older bike, and there is just no good place to put that paperwork.

That, and the number of bikes I own explains why I keep the paperwork in a ziplock bag on the bikes. Under the seat, in the pouch for the owner's manual, in the fairing pocket, in the saddlebag, in the tailcowl compartment and in the toolbox. I have always wanted to get one of these lockable storage boxes for under the license plate. May have to, one of these days...

Don't keep registration on any bike, have never had it requested in several states.

Do carry insurance cards for multiple bikes in wallet...seems to cover both requirements as it has VIN and owner info. I'll take my chances. YRMV

In TX, the states insurance info is on a database the LEO's already looked at before they get out of vehicle...typically. When I have handed them my card, they state they already saw it...not that that happens often

While I don't carry the registration either (not required here in Ga) I think most people just assume you need to or just use the term.

But honestly as a retired LEO I really see no reason for any state to make you carry your registration anymore or in many years past. Registration information is available to LE with a simple check of the tag or VIN. Heck, even here in Georgia your insurance information is available when checking registration.
