    1100RT windshield question

This could sound like a very stupid question, but I have to ask.

How does the RT windshield manage the water in the rain? I have felt the flow of air on the back side of the windshield and it seems that water would go up the inside of the windscreen while at speed in the rain. I am assuming it just runs up the inside and meets the flow from the front of the windscreen and goes up and away.

We get a whopping 2.5" of rain a year here, so it may be awhile before I would get to see the answer to my question.

But no worries......it's a dry heat.

It's not bad, actually. When I have to ride in the rain, I move the windshield to the full-up position, and the only wetness I get is on my shoulders. I have owned bigger, fully faired, bikes like Goldwings and ElectraGlides, but I'm impressed with the RT. Additionally, there are a few companies that offer shields larger than stock. You'll find a perfect fit for you.

    windshield

My 97 r1100rt has a cee bailey windshield put on by the former owner. I just raise it slightly above eye level, and, as long as i'm moving forward at a fair clip, i'm pretty well protected. It's a huge improvement over my last bike (suzuki bandit). I only get rain on the inside of the shield when i slow or stop.

    "Yeah? So is a microwave."

Well, I appreciate all the replies. My bike came with a Parabelleum +2" windscreen on it and it seems to offer good wind protection. The flow on both sides of the screen is what got me curious about the design's ability to manage rain water.

Our monsoon season is just about here, so I should get a chance to ride home in the rain pretty quick and see what the water does.

    Microwave...what a great analogy!

No problems with my Aeroflow either. I'll get some rain running up the fairing and under the windshield at speed but it's no biggie.
