Swimming sounds like a great idea. It can be very warm in MO. in July. It will be 105 degress today in Sedalia.
I took basic training in Ft Leonardwood MO in 1968 in July and it was HOT. This time I'll wear shorts instead of fatigues while visiting MO.

If you have not been to the Fort Leonard Wood/St Robert/Waynesville area in a while you would not recognize it now. A lot has changed over the last few years.

I was at Lost in the Woods the following summer (69) and it wasn't any cooler. Remember how we had to add salt tabs to our drinking water? They found out it was the wrong thing to do.

Nice march to the rifle range during July.

Will there be any vendors on site or close by that will be selling inflatable pools? That seemed to be a big item last yr!

I checked google maps and it looks like there is quite a bit of water around the fairgrounds; or at least within 15 minutes from there. Where are the swimming holes? I am not talking about pools.

It looks like Harry Truman Lake is close to the fairgrounds. Just about 30 miles and a lake; love it.
