    'O5 RT: heated grip issue

In preparing my beloved RT for selling, I can't determine whether my heated grips are operating properly. (I would not otherwise use 'em this time of year, ey?)

When I turn the key on, the grips heat momentarily -- irrespective of whether the grip switch on, half on, or off.

There is no change after I start the engine: they remain off. I should say, apparantly off, cuz there's no easy to check whether they are on or off.

The ambient temp outside here in sunny Fla today is mid to high 80's.

Short of tearing into the wiring and checking it with my multimeter, I'd like to know whether it's behaving normally -- maybe it senses air temp(?)

    Whatchall think?

I have the same year RT. If I put on the grips in Summer, my hands will burst into flames. They don't heat at all when off.

I have the same year also. You should have no heat with the key on, but it should heat when you start the engine. It doesn't sense temperature, so if you have the switch on you will feel them heat up.

My 05 grips heat up only when turned on and its pretty easy to tell when they are on, even in summer.
