I'm looking for a juicer that doesn't cost a fortune, is easy to clean, and does a good job.

What will you be juicing: Citrus type of fruit, or carrots and apples and stuff??
Vegetables and fruit, leafy, roots, apples -- prolly not citrus. Joined the local CSA (community supported/sustainable agriculture) program and I have no idea yet what I'll be bringing home, but if it's going to be eaten, I know I'll have to juice a lot of it. Local farmers market starts on Saturday.

Here is a link with Amazon's top sellers:

I used to have one of these, where you put the stuff in the chute, then mash it into the pulping blade. I cannot remember the brand, but I think they are all similar. It was a pain to clean, though. I now have an Olympic (Olympus?) citrus juicer, that is manual, and it works well for oranges and etc...
good luck
Good list, thank you.

After reading a ton of stuff since yesterday, I ordered a Breville dual cutter blade model from the Amazon marketplace used/like new for $100 off the new price.

Sounds good. Do you have any juice concoctions ready to try? I'd be nice if there was a drink that was like an artery flush, lol.
Google "Fat, Sick, and nearly dead". I's fulll in as soon as I get a juicer.

googled it--- good stuff.
When I was little, I ran and palyed outside all day, every day.
The kids I work with now are eating junk and sitting in front of videos and facebook.
I totally believe that they are going to be in trouble.
Unless you really want to get rid of all of the pulp or want to juice a lot of fibrous vegetable, a high powered blender with a rectangular container will handle about everything and is a lot more versatile than a juicer. They are fundamentally different in capability from lower powered blenders with round containers like the ubiquitous Oster or Waring stuff due to different blades, power level and containers design.
I use a Blentec (1500W) to make everything from smoothies (using frozen or fresh fruit and vegetables) to cream soups, etc. Make fresh strawberry lemonade from whole fresh fruit (got a stevia version if trying to reduce sugar). Carrots and similar are no problem. Can't do any of this well in a lower powered blender and juicers don't puree- they just extract..
The one I bought does all those things: Breville
I also don't see myself giving up the traditional Waring blender I've used for 15 years.

my wife just got a breville juicer via amazon and we're still experimenting. The juicer itself is easy to use and easy to clean. I'm not ready for a three-day juice fast or anything like that yet, but we've started to sub one meal a day with juice. We're experimenting with combinations and after only three days my beer belly is receding slightly...but noticeably.

Started with the juice fast this morning -- gonna have to find a use for the pulp that doesn't involve me eating it.
