400,000 miles on the engine? Are the cylinders still round and straight with in- spec piston to cylinder clearance. With that many miles, it deserves a little extra blow by.

They are the Nicacil cylinders, still could see the cross hatching marks so I put in new rings after I gaped them.

    blow bye

Hi Darryl , just read your post ,not sure about the nic plated cylinders but on the steel ones the rings can be put in upside down? I think this would give you blow bye and crank case pressure ,hope this assists ,Jimmy, going to the laueral highlands this weekend ?
