Ohlins "Street Performance Line" for R1200RT

Has anyone ever tried the Ohlins "Street Performance Line" shock for the rear of the R1200RT? Ohlins makes this model BM-057 for the rear only of the RT. Seems to have a street price of ~$600.

The other manually adjustable Ohlins for the R1200RT are the front BM-503 ($700) and the rear BM-504 ($800).

Any ideas or experience with the BM-057 would be sincerely appreciated.

    John,
Rear shock BM-057 just has 2 spanner nuts to adjust spring preload. Type S46DR1.

BM-504 has hyd spring preload adjust knob and hose, just like the standard stock shock. Type S46DR1S. The "S" on the end is for the hyd. spring preload.

Details of shock type nomenclature is on http://www.ohlins.com/Our-products-n...ock-absorbers/

I have a set of the BM-503/504 on my '09 RT and highly recomend them. Bought thru Dan Kyle Racing in Calif.

Your fork has nothing to do with preload or damping, it's all in the front shock. The fork only has a little light oil to allow it to slide. Read Lee Parks book to know how to test what you have now. You might be the weight and size the stock suspension is tuned for.......I'm not, I'm two of them. lol
