    Windshield for K75

    Hi Everyone,
OK, I've put it off too long. I really need to upgrade my barn door windshield to something a bit more sleeker. The barn door does not allow me to get enough air and it gets really hot behind it. Plus , no matter how I tilt it, I am still getting buffeted by the wind. (I sit pretty tall on the bike)
    I would appreciate any suggestions!

    Im nuts

I am 6'2" and had the idea that I needed more shielding . $250 later and a new ,now used "one trip" Airflow shield hangs in my shop. The air flow was as bad as the stock and I think the looks went from "sporty" to "old fart " (just cause I am an olld fart doesnt mean my bike has to look like it.) I ended up cutting the stock shield just below the flare . I like the looks better and the buffeting that it put in my face is gone. 5 minutes with a small air dremel with a cut off wheel.

    Thumbs up

I've got one made by Parabellum and I love it, they are very helpful on the phone and do assorted sizes depending on your height.

If you try it with no screen, there isn't any buffeting. That's the way I prefer my K75.

    windshield

    Thanks for the responses guys.
Tom, I have tried it without the windshield. My neck can't take it, especially when going 85mph down the interstate!
I've heard folks talking about the Airflow....good to hear about your experience...I'll continue researching.

The "International Shield" that came as an option on the early K75s and standard on the K75T is an excellent shield. I have had one on at least 4 K75s, both high and low weat models. It just works!

You might try an ad to see who has one.

Second vote for the International Shield. I recently replaced a National Cycle windscreen with the OEM International Shield that Paul speaks of. It is quite nice. Very functional and I think it looks like it belongs on the bike as well. I just purchased a Laminar Lip for it but have yet to put it on. If you'd like to know how that works out just PM me. Good luck with your search!

Thx Paul. It was a question I had. I'm converting a '87 K100RT to a K100T. Already got the International windshield, the K bike spotlamp kit, part of the late model K75 headlight bucket assemby. Need the rest of that and a plain K100 radiator shroud. How well does the spotlamp kit work?

Those are Bosch lights and work very well. I've put them on several of our K75s over the years. The OEM kit has one fan beam light (right side) that works with low beam and one spot light (left side) with high beam. For a couple of years the low beam stayed on with the high beam, so you got the fan beam on low and both on high.

I think that you've confirmed that I'm on the right path with the windshield and spotlamp kits. Thx again. Barry

I had and recommend the Parabellum Scout. Cut the shield down so I was looking over. Worked for me.

Where does one find the lights you speak of? I'm assuming you are talking about the little black rectangular ones that hang below the headlamp.

I've seen them on ebay, but usually incomplete with no wiring going for an insane amount of cash.

I've been seein them for sell for years, kinda cheap. I had the RT, liked the bike, but got to where I hated the fairing, I'm makin that bike a T. Some how the parts kinda dried up for those bikes. Duncans Beemers is going out of business. They had a complete set for sell, so I snapped it up. I've heard people say that those spotlamps look horrendous. I think they look cool. Go to the national in Sedalia, stuff like that turns up at the national. You might get lucky.
