    source for R100RT voltmeter

The volt meter on my 84 R100RT gave up the ghost. Anyone know of a source for new, used, rebuilt, or after market. I tried a couple of on-line sources and the voltmeter was not available.

    Thanks,

    PW

    voltmeter

VDO 332103 Vision Style Voltmeter Gauge 2 1 16 Diameter can be found online from about $32 - $50 . I used the same vision series to replace my clock on my 1983 R80RT. All of my BMW cars use VDO gauges, accurate and reliable.

I too have used the VDO voltmeter...works great, fits perfectly. The mounting to the dash is better, it uses a full plastic sleeve mount instead of the metal bracket with tiny nuts.

But realize its not plug 'n play. The OEM unit had two plugs and the bulb mounts into a metal sleeve that grounds the light circuit. The VDO is set up for four connectors; voltage +/- and the light +/-. You'll need to place a small jumper wire to connect the light ground to the meter ground. This also means cutting off the OEM bulb socket, as the VDO light is already internal to the gauge.

No big deal and I would still endorse the switch, just wanted you to know that its not an identical unit, the small wiring change is required.

Can't recall where online I bought mine, it was about $35 plus shipping.

The bezel shape on the Cockpit Series is a closer match to the stock unit.

    Volt Meter

I found a replacement for mine at a Boat Dealer. The brand is Telelfex. I fit the dash hole thight enough that I didn't have put anything behind it to hold it in place. Not sure of the cost but around $ 30 I think

Me, too...Bass Pro Shops is where I got mine. I figured it might be able to withstand the possible wet environment as well as the vibrations mounted in my fairing.
