    Paul, Anton?

OK Lets go over this again. Shifting into 1st rolling sounds like grampas old ford truck in granny gear, 2nd is clean 3rd has a high pitched gear noise 4th good 5th good 6th has a high pitched whine you can get alot of clacking in the lower gears from the driveshaft, rear end if you get on the gas and off. I bought this bike used about 2K ago,26K. I've had my airhead for 37 years and the trans is silent. I took mama for a mothers day ride today and she said is it suppose to make all this racket? In 6th at 3500 if you pull the clutch and drop the throttle the noise goes away. Tick at idle with the clutch not pulled and goes away if you pull the clutch in, no spline lube history yet. Thanks, Lanny

    Lanny,
Are you running at that low RPM just for the test?
    I don't hit 6th until I'm north of 4000rpm.

I am and unfortunatly I'm already speeding on our secondary roads. I'm aware that to keep low rpm power pulses off the trans bearings it's good to let them rev. I made it 50K with my 90/6 with no trans, clutch or final problems. This gear noise makes me worry that there is an issue with shims/bearings, Thanks for your reply Zyg
