F650cs rear sprocket - issues again
so i noticed my rear sprocket a bit floppy again. I went to pull it off...
lock ring cam off easy, collor nut spun off as needed.
however i could see around the spacer bushing and past the shaft seal. took off the whole assembly and pryed out the shaft seal and ordered new shaft seal and spacer bushing. I'm kinda wondering of the shop didnt reuse the old spacer bushing and after about 1000 miles it trashed the seal as well as itself. the spacer bushing looks pretty well ground down and nothing like the one in another post (sorry for stealin some ones picture) anymore...the piece in his hand...mine has no collor anymore and that little bit just under his thumb nail is non -existent
I ordered a new spacer bushing and shaft seal last night in hopes they will be here by the end of the week.
i inspected it all, tore it apart and nothing else is damaged ...all bearings, rear and on both sides spin well and no dust on the speedo pickup.
finally, to my question....should I be packing something in there? grease or such? the area I'm talking about is the cavity between the snap ring and inside the seal...to allow the spacer bushing a bit more movemement? I used a basic molly grease before, perhaps that was a bad idea?
and one more question....when you tighten the collor nut down and you hit the torque limit and the slot doesnt line up with the hole for the lock ring to index into....
do you tighten it further to allign or back it off?
