I think the case and crank are the same. You'll run into incompatibilities in the top end (exhaust header attachment, for instance).

Thx, yeah mike over at beemerboneyard said only gs/r/rs/rt will work, so if anyone runs across one with less than 32k please let me know.

try LKQ. They often have a bunch of motors on eBay. I'm sure that if you contact them directly, they might be able to source one for you.

If I use a motor off an RT my exhaust wont work? Found an RT Motor

The 1100 and 1150 are different. The exhaust header on the 1150 is a different shape and uses 3 studs not 2. Since the bore is different, I do not think 1100 heads fit 1150 easily.

I have a 99R1100GS and going back with R1100RT motor, unless I find a GS motor with low miles.
