Okay, I had a no-start condition (hit starter, no nothing but tach rose, lights dimmed or went out) Thought it might be a dirty starter. Finally pulled it out, cleaned it, re-assembled it and bench tested it with a known good battery. Sparks, but nothing. Ohm meter shows dead short from post to housing (varies a little if you turn the shaft) Armature looks worn. Brushes OK. Should I go shopping for a used starter?
