    Audio/ipod 2011 R1200RT

I have a 2011 R1200RT with the Audio system. I have my ipod hooked uo via the usb cord. I have created a few playlist BMW1, BMW2, ect. All works good except one part. The shuffle function. It seems that the music does not shuffle the songs just plays them sorted by artist. The ipod itself is setup to shuffle and does outside the bike but not on the bike.

Any ideas if this function should work or am I missing something?

No idea about your bike audio, just wondering if it's called something other than shuffle. When the head unit in my car controls the iPod, the shuffle function is called "RAND" -- which presumably means random.

There is no read out on the disply for random or shuffle....but on the ipod itself there is and I have it set for shuffle but the audio system does not follow it.
Weird, but maybe that is what it is....unless someone else has had the same deal and figured it out?

Once you plug in the iPod to the USB plug in the bike audio system takes over. Pressing the mode button on the left side of the bike will cycle you through various playback modes, I believe the 3rd one is random (shuffle). I do not have mine set up with playlists so this may be different from what you're referring to.

Ok...hee is what I tried....when I use the wheel toggle once the audio is on, if I push the mode button I can go through the playlist. If I hold the wheel toggle the word random comes up. From there if I use the toggle again and move it forward, the random stays there, if I move the toggle backwards I think it shuffles but only if I move the toggle wheel backwards....this is getting very educational, but will test it in full later today. The nake of the track comes up this way not the name of the song and they are not in alpa order so this may be the trick. Only down side I see so far is that you have to use the wheel in reverse. Stay tuned!!

you can prolly cycle this as well, name of track, name of song, name of artist, etc.

Again, I'm not referring to your bike, but the way the iPod control system works in my cage.
