    2004 K1200GT Owners Manual

OK, took the plunge and picked up an '04 1200GT with 14,000 miles on it. But there's no owners manual, can't seem (yet) to find anything on-line, and before I spring for a Clymer's, I'd like to know how to check the oil !!
Anybody have a lead on Owners Manuals????

    01 47 7 681 797 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS K 1200GT - USA (to 08/04) $26.40

    01 47 7 692 717 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS K 1200GT - US-ENGLISCH (from 08/04) $26.40

The dates are date of manufacture of the bike, not model year. I would bet yours was made before 08/04 as they tended to start the new model year right after summer holidays.

I BELIEVE the following are maintenance schedules, not how to do the maintenance.

And as far as how to check the oil.....bike on the center stand on level surface....look at the oil site glass on the lower, rider's right side of the engine case/oil pan. The level should be between the center and the top. Each model I have had, I was told that 'full' was at center or at the top. Depends on who was speaking, but it is in the owner's manual, which I don't have with me. Certainly if the level is below the center, some oil is called for.

Thnks Jim, found the oil check, level is OK. Just finished registering it this morning. Can't beleive the power difference between this and my '05LT. Steers a bit heavy at slow speed, something I should get used to.

Shouldn't be a problem, since K1200 GTs and RSs are almost impossible to KEEP at slow speed.
