2008 R1200R Fork Leg Oil Capacity

I have a 2008 R1200R which had a fork seal leak. I've gotten to the point of putting in the fork oil but can't find a a volume that I am comfortable with. I have a repair CD but it specifies .65 liter which is the same as for the R1200GS with more travel and larger fork tubes. I have actually put in .65 liter and it nearly fill up the fork leg and is much higher than what was in when I removed the tube.

I have been on many other forums including this one with no "hits" on my searches so I am posting here in hopes that someone has done this repair.

It's only for lubrication, as the central shock does the damping.

The '07 version of the reprom calls for .46 l for a R1200R. The GS is, as you said, .65 l. I'm surprised that would change for the '08 and later bikes.

    marchyman,

    Thanks for your help.

BTW, my repair CD doesn't have the seal replacement procedure on it for the R1200R. I used another bike. Might be a faulty CD.
