    Secondary Mirrors R1150RT

Anyone know what accessory mirrors I can buy for my 2004 R1150RT?

I have the old ones from my R1150R, and they fit loosely into the control
shifters, but, what I'm lacking the spacer and washer and bolt, or fit collar of some type.

I was about to contact A&S cycles to look into parts, but, thought I'd
    start here first.

Was told that the oval K1200RS mirrors might do the trick.

    Any one have any success?

    Thanks,

    Jim

Take a look at www.mklsportster.com/r1150rtchronicles.htm . Go down the dates until you get to April 8, 2007 and you will see a topic on using K1200GT mirrors for what you are wanting to do. There is also a picture. Hope this helps.

I have also heard that oilhead GS mirrors fit RTs just fine. I don't think they need the sleeves that guy used with the 1200 mirrors. Seems like a lot of parts and bother. I mean, 5 sleeves? Just call any dealer to make sure the GS mirrors fit your RT and then check eBay etc.

    re Secondary Mirrors R1150RT

K1200RS mirrors best and easiest, IMHO. Just need to grind off some of the left side's base so the fast throttle lever can still go up. Here's how they look from the front:

Closeup from rider's left side. Now I can see over camping gear when tied onto rear seat.

Closeup showing throttle lever. I bought the mirrors on eBay last summer and the seller had already ground the side of the mirror base for clearance. I did a little more grinding and the lever works great now. Be sure to order and install the wave washers, so the mirrors hold their adjustment.

The styling of the RS mirrors looks a lot better to me. Nice install!

Here's the drill down and part numbers from RealOEM:

You may be able to order them cheaper thru BikeBandit.com.

    P. S. I read a lot about much cheap Japanese moto mirrors that are commonly available. I also talked with an RT rider who had installed them. Sounded like it would not be worth the trouble, with all the adapters to make it work. IMHO, mine are well worth the above prices, just for the safety value alone.

The GS mirrors are about $70.00 each.
That leaves me about $65.00 to spend on going to the RALLY.

    Gaston,

You are correct on my avatar pic. Taken on Hwy 242 during the Redmond rally a couple of years ago. That area was one of the most scenic parts of my trip.
