I went to look at a guy's 1980 R100RT, the red and silver one. As I thought, it's really a 1979 R100T. All complete, even has a custom copper colored velour seat that looks like a museum piece, Luftmiester w/lowers, huge Luftmiester trunk and the smaller Krauser trunk, two sets of Krauser bags (no cracks), chrome folding Reynolds rack, ride off center stand (Brown?), dual plugged heads, new electronic ignition (not installed), barback's, all guages work including the clock and volt meter, new Metzlers, 38K on the speedo. The fairing is the first thing to go, the seat is almost to retro cool ugly to harm. It looks like an early Mayer Day Long.?

Made the deal. it'll be in the garage next week to keep the oilhead GS company. I've had airheads before so I mostly know what I'm getting into but still have lots of questions so I'll be using this forum as THE source, thanks in advance.

Did the 1979 R100T come with the /6 /7 style bench seat or the cowled seat like the RS, RT, S?

Will K75C handlebars fit in a RS upper fairing if I use the barbacks? I want to build a R100TS.

I'll try and post some pics of this fancy touring set from the past once I get it home and before I lighten it's load.
