I found your trip report helpful. I myself am planning a Central America trip in Jan 2013 departing from Wisconsin. We could have snow and cold most likely. Reading your report, I noticed the three options you have listed for getting your moto to a warmer climate. That got me thinking. Perhaps I can find a place to store my moto in a southern climate, maybe ride somewhere around end of November and store my moto and fly back to Wisconsin until I am ready to depart in Jan.
