The Country Pride Cafe, US-421 and St. Rd. 28 near Frankfort, IN. usually my starting point for Breakfast. They generally close around 3 pm. so have to find something else on way home.

    Thumbs up

For the best BBQ in Jacksonville, FL try GATORS. Located on the west side of Jax just south of Beaver St on Cahoon.

Any 'El Taco' in Springfield MO area...counter service only, no waitress, no alcohol, best hot taco sauce anywhere! A local owned chain. A small off shoot of their parent restaurant, Mexican Villa, but I think its better.

Caspers Chili in Springfield MO. Closed from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Expect to wait for a table. Its inside an old quonset hut. Just eat and enjoy, don't ask to many questions or get to curious about the kitchen though...It's GREAT about once a year, that'll do you for awhile!

Look up 'greasy spoon' in the dictionary, and this place will be pictured!

If you want to talk about BBQ . . . Lexington BBQ in Lexington, N.C. just off Hwy 29 South. It's vinegar based BBQ and slaw.

Best bisquits and gravy I ever ate ( that is a statement) were in Eukiah , Oregon. Next to the railroad tracks in that very small town. Sorry the name is now in the fog.

I'm stating a website that covers the DelMarVa peninsula for places to go and good things to eat. Anyone is welcome to submit entries:

Perhaps you mean Ukiah, California? About 14 miles from Oregon on I-5?

Old Hiway, in total agreement with you! Another good "family style" is The Cedars at w.bypass & Chestnut.

Caspers as you say is good for about once each year! lol

If you are ever in the North Carolina mountains around Jefferson or Sparta make a detour to Shatley Springs. They serve lunch and dinner "family style". You sit down at a table with a group of folks and the food starts coming out - Country Ham, Fried Chicken, corn on the cob, green beans, mashed potatoes . . . . . . ! Just make sure to leave room for dessert.
