Jasper, I can see some writing on the shock coils. Just out of curiosity, which way is it in your installation? I am just trying to prove my theory that manufacturers often put stickers that look like and probably are publicity but also assist DIY like me from installing upside down.

You gotta admit that OldnSlow isn't "slow" at all.

Phew, glad that's fixed. Uneasy day today because like many here that sort of thing bugs the hell out of me. Thanks for asking for the photos ghyber, its unlikely I would have figured it out if it weren't for that. <

Edit ** thanks to oldnslow for picking up the error !

There's no stickers on the shock, but there is printing on the coil. It is indeed now right way up, so maybe your theory is correct.

Note the adjuster is indeed now blocked by the bag bracket, but nothing that can't be dealt with.

You gotta wonder if the upside down orientation contributed to the failure the first time. I guess we'll find out.

It might LOOK like the adjuster is blocked, but if you have the stock BMW shock wrench (the one you use to check your tranny oil level) you can easily adjust the preload on the 412.
