No way affiliated - like the magazine though! I just received my first issue 2 weeks ago and was a nice mix of articles and pretty good photography!

I checked it out on the news stand last week.

Won't be buying it. Why? Because they print text on photos. Ruins the photo, makes the text hard to read (like many MOA members and possible subscribers, I don't see as well as I used to )

I know it is the hot, trendy, arty thing to do right now. But I vote with my pocket book and I vote NO.

I've complained to Vince every time in happens in the ON. It seems to be happening less often. Hopefully it will stop because I'm a Lifetime Member and have a lot more issues to read.

Since this thread is about our digital edition, you're in luck.

Each article in the digital edition is viewable in our "text reader" mode that shows the article in black on white text, just like reading a book. It even allows you to adjust font size to your liking! So, you get the best of both worldstext mode and wonderful (if I may say so) photographic layouts.

Sandy, signed up, got the code for the free download, told me issue 17 was available for download, followed the instructions, but a "sample" issue downloaded, no issue 17. Did I do something wrong? Thanks in advance.

I think you may be viewing the right hand side of our Library where the Sampler issue is always available for download, as opposed to swiping to the left side of the Library where you should be able to find your free current issue.

Regarding an Android version, we're constantly reevaluating how best to deliver our magazine to our users. Unfortunately, when Android or iOS apps are written to take full advantage of the strengths of each platform, as we've done with our iOS app, they're generally written in their native programming languages, and these are different languages between platforms. So creating a new version for a different platform is a major task! And currently, engagement (as opposed to market share) for other magazines on Android is only a few percent compared to iOS.

We could have written our app in a language common to both the platforms, but at the time these languages didn't offer the performance and the features we wanted our digital version to have. However, like I said, we're constantly reevaluating that decision so I appreciate hearing from Android users who would like to see the magazine on that platform!

I think you may be viewing the right hand side of our Library where the Sampler issue is always available for download, as opposed to swiping to the left side of the Library where you should be able to find your free current issue.

OK Did the stuff necessary and got my free issue, the one that is on the news stands right now.

On page 82 of the print magazine, there was a lot of white text on top of a picture. I had a hard time reading it at the store and gave up.

The digital edition on the iPad makes it easier to read as you can zoom in with the text staying perfectly clear.

I appreciate your situation. It is common. The only think that I may point out is that there are a lot more android devices everyday and I won't be surprised when they overtake Apple devices in sheer numbers.

I bought the Nexus 7 to use on our sailboat as a chart plotter. The rest of the apps are just pure gravy.
