I have one on my bike! DonÔÇÖt think it makes much difference; if any. Save your money.

    Booster Plug

I put a BoosterPlug on my RT about six weeks ago. I've only ridden it about 500 miles with the unit in place. I think it does make a minor difference in two things: 1)low-rpm torque does seem to be stronger, and is especially noticeable in first gear, and 2) the engine temperature readout indicates that it runs slightly cooler at just about any RPM.

I was concerned that it would decrease gasoline mileage, but that does not seem to be the case.

Of course, this is absolutely subjective. I am not a sophisticated enough rider to detect really subtle differences. That said, it does seem to have more pulling power in first gear. It seems to require less finesse with the clutch/throttle interaction.

Worth $150? Candidly, I expected a more dramatic change.

    Booster Plug

I've heard so many good things and so many "eh" things about this that I'm just as confused about it as you. I think if you have low end torque issues that this would help. However it does lower your MPG i've read so that's something to consider. I also think that the grade of fuel you use may solve some of the problems but that's just a theory of mine.

I've had one on two oilheads and one hexhead. It helps with the off idle throttle response, the throttle you use moving around a parking lot in first gear. It seems to smooth out the jerkiness you get.
I've seen dyno runs where it gives you a hp or two, but that could easily be just the machine difference between runs.
The BoosterPlug at $150 is too much for what you get, but the Accelerator Plug at about $65 is worth it, IF you need any throttle help described above. http://www.sol2.be/Performance/ENG/Home/index.html

I have the accelerator plug on my 09 GSA and it helped smoothing out the low speed throttle response. Which is why I got it. I was still breaking in the bike so i really don't know how it affect MPG. I noticed no real difference in overall performance. In my opinion, it fixed my problem and was worth the money. I suspect on the camheads it isn't worth it. On my hexhead GSA with the enduro transmission, it made the 1st to 2nd transition better and the 2nd gear on/off throttle smoother.

They seem to be "Eh" on the oil heads, but a huge improvement in driveability on the "Wedge" K Bikes. Folks rave about them on the i-bmw.com site.

I ordered one yesterday for my 2007 K1200R Sport, which has extreme poor off idle throttle response and surging at low speeds.

Booster plug is the best thing since pancakes.

Those who say it makes little difference must be running stock pipes. I took the converter off of mine and the booster plug makes a huge difference. It makes the bike run much smoother at lower rpm...and through the rpm band.

This bike runs too lean stock

My 2010 1200 GS (camhead) had a very rough cold idle since new. It would often die within a few seconds unless I gave it some throttle. At the 600 mile service the dealer could find nothing wrong.

After adding the Booster Plug, it now idles strong the way it should. The engine is also noticeably smoother at lower rpm. Less popping from the exhaust. Gas mileage decreased maybe 1 mpg in mostly city riding. (no other mods, stock exhaust)

    It worked as advertised.

Installed: for me this item has assisted me in accelerating from a stop. RT seems smoother at idle no info so far on MPGs. Wallet is lighter but I am pleased so far.
