Anyone been to Black Hills SD? Iron mountain road, needles hwy, and Deadwood makes for a great motorcycle adventure. Some notes captured below on the journey.

Sounds like a good trip.
Passenger, luggage, and speed is exactly what happened to miles per gallon.

Thanks! I'm planning a road trip in the US and the Black Hills, Deadwood etc. are on my list. I'll take a good look at your notes to make a nice route. Great stuff!
-=- if you always see the road ahead of you, it's not worth the trip -=-
Nice summary, no pics?
Rode to Sturgis from Ct a few years back. Went across the top of Lake Superior and hung a right. Dropped south around Eagle Butte, ND. Did the Black Hills, Deadwood, etc. God's country.
Coming back we wound up in Duluth about midnite. We'd ridden thru wind, rain, and crippled deer crawling off back roads. For lack of a choice, we stayed in a run-down hotel populated by alky's and druggies, where a cop had been recently attacked. The room was dry, clean, and we were treated well. Turned out to be a pretty good trip.
Yep..was stationed there for (4) years at Ellsworth AFB.
