    Question no brake or turn lights

    I have a 1983 r100 w/ a sidecar all was well then no turn signals or brake lights,running lights ok,got under tank wiggled everthing,identified relays as lighting and starter under the tank,turn signal relay in head light shell,all very clean 19k on bike.think I'll make a jumper w/clips and start jumping grounds,TS relay new.Any other ideas?

    What was the last thing you did to the bike before the problem? Start with low hanging fruit -- check the connections and ground for the tail light assembly.

    You probably checked it but there is a large connector at or near where the rear subframe bolts to the frame that connects the rear lighting to the main wiring harness. Mine sometimes faults here and I lose the rear turn signals and brake light. Another place on my bike that affects the rear lighting is corrosion in the inline fuse holder just outside the headlight shell. If this acts up I will also lose the lighting in the instruments so if just the rear lighting is affected I know where to go first.

    last thing I did !

    Last thing I did was ride a rough road,checked lrg connector at subframe first,will have to look for that in line fuse out side the shell . checked tail light connections on the bike but not on the car/will do that next.Thank You,I'll get back in as soon as I can.
