Firefox 4-is it really any better?

Question du joure...Firefox 4-is it really any better than 3.6? I thought I'd throw it out to the gang to see what's up. Like a lot of this stuff there is lots of claims but other misc. garbage also. It seems like mixed reviews. Any thoughts? Thanks, Gary

Inquiring minds would like to know! I too, Keep getting that pop up on start and on the fence about it. Seems not too long ago, Christmas time? 3.6 was just loaded.

I upgraded and would probably go back. Despite what they say I have found pages render a lot slower, especially if they have a lot of elements. As for new look, just check out Google Chrome, it is almost a direct copy. One new thing I find really irritating is that it keeps asking me to approve sites wanting my location information - I wish I could set it so NO site gets this info ever, have not found a setting for that yet.

    No

I upgrade now I have a bunch of sites that do not open due to some addon.
I now us IE 8, 9 on the '7' computer.
I think there is a issue with Firefox 4.

NO, not as intuitive, and too much lost space at the top of the screen. Wish I hadn't updated.

So far your all echoing my concerns with a bit of anecdotal evidence.
And Ted, I try to stay away (if it's at all possible) from the Google tentacles. Chrome came in in sort of a half-way kinda deal and it was a PITA to get out. On the Firefox-4 so far I'm thinking after a few more months the reviews will get Less Bad?

Hi folks, I'm David, I'll be your contrarian today.

This is on Mac OS 10.6.7. FF4 seems zippier to me. I haven't had it refuse to open anything, and haven't had the security challenges Ted recites. The layout is unfamiliar, but I'm slowly accommodating.

All in all: faster, some learning curve. No desire to go back. Yet.
