Greetings, name is Carsten, from, in the U.S. since 1992 and dual citizen since 2009
Recently switched from the cruiser to the sports touring world and what would make more sense than to support my home economy and go with a Beemer, so I got a great deal on a well-maintained 2004 R1150RT and loving it. Totally different feeling than a cruiser but so much more comfortable in seating position.

HI Carsten - We've got a pretty active BMW riders club with more than a few members in CT. Take at look here: http://www.yankeebeemers.org/ Next meeting is in Mendon, MA, this coming Sunday. It'd be a nice 60+ mile ride for you, and you'd get a chance to meet some great people with a lot of knowledge.

John, I know Mendon well, a buddy lives there, but he rides one of those odd mules, I think they call it "Harley" ??? :-D
Unfortunately my weekends are fully booked well into June but I sure hope to get together with some local BMW owners this summer. I will surely check that link out!!
Yes, love the 1150RT. I have friends that say it's a better bike than the 1200RT, now I am not so sure about that but it does everything great, coming from a Stratoliner that rattled my teeth silly at 75 mph hehe
