    Warning! Don't ride the bears!

Living near a major tourist site always brings out some amusing tales.
It's a lucky thing they all didn't get "cooked" by Old Faithful.....

Yellowstone ranger and historian Craig Whittlesey wrote a book called Death in Yellowstone. After reading it, I am unable to be surprised by people's idiocy.

Stupid stupid stupid, not to mention disrespectful and inconsiderate.

Several years ago, I was up in the northeast section when I came upon a bunch of cars pulled over to the side of the road, with people alongside and walking around. Of course they had stopped to check out some scenic view or local critter, so I pulled over too to check it out.

There was a park ranger out in the field, frantically waving his arms and shouting "Go back!!! Go back!!!" Some tourist wanted to get a better picture of the grizzly...

You just know that had the geyser erupted, someone would have had a lawyer in the mix in a matter of hours... I would consider this another example of folks doing their best to drain the shallow end of the gene pool.... Vaya con Dios, Dutch

Yeah, and then the do-gooders would lobby to turn it off for good.

We could sacrifice a lawyer and/or a Sierra Clubber to the Great Spirit of the Thermals.

Like lemmings to the sea. I can't believe that out of 30 people not 1 saw the signs on the way in that warned to stay on the walkways.

As tourists, they more likely just don't give an aeronautical copulation.

Geysers. Just goes to show that Global warming is true. They just wanted to get a first-hand look at
    global warming in action.

,,,too stupid to live...like the shoppers in any given Costco with their shopping carts...what's really scary about that is as stoopid as they are wheeling around a thirty pound shopping cart, in just a few minutes, they are gonna jump into a three ton SUV and hit the road...

Stupid CAN be fixed. The solution is terminal and often helps keep the gene pool clean.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."
