I've been searching the forum for the correct plug gap for Autolite 3923 plugs in an R1100 RT and found plenty of info but it is inconsistent.
So far I have read the gap should be .028, .032 and .035.
I'm hoping someone can recommend the right gap and maybe explain why.
There does seem to be consensus on the following Autolite plug info I found:
- the 3923 works well in the 1100 motors
- the 3922 is better for the 1150 motors, but only in the top position on dual spark models. Do not use in the lower position.
- the 3923 is a slightly higher (hotter) heat range
- having too large a plug gap can cause the other ignition components to work harder causing unnecessary heat. (I'm really not sure this is true or false)
Thanks for any input you can provide.
