..Took me a minute to find it in there..They look good. Sorta the naked street fighter look. Seems like it's going to be hard to change to a 60T rear sprocket to do podium wheelies

    R1200R vs R1200RT

Does anyone know: does the R1200R have the same handling characteristics of the newer model R1200RTs? I see they have the same engine, Telelever/Paralever suspension, tire size, and nearly identical wheelbase and steering head angle.

I have never ridden an RT, but my my 09 Roadster has basically the same as the 11, and they handle wonderfully. Very agile and easy to ride. The low flat bar is comfortable and easy to steer, and it is one of the lightest 1200 cc bikes out there. Very sporty, and very comfortable. And it is 80 lbs lighter than an RT with full tanks.

I have a 07 RT and a 08 R. The R has a lighter, quicker and more nimble feel; much easier to ride at slower speeds and in an urban environment. It is a factor of CG and overall weight.

Actually the R1200R handles a bit better than the RT because it is lighter, has less weight on the front wheel, and is more nimble.

    R1200R Handling vs. R1200RT

+1 on the better handling of the R1200R compared to the RT.

I traded my 2005 RT for a new 2009 R1200R in February, 2010 and have not been happier.

I had logged about 16,500 miles on the RT in the almost five years that I owned it. Since Feb of last year, I have a little over 8,000 miles on the R1200R. This bike is so much fun to ride that I ride it every chance I get.

The R1200R makes a great touring bike (I have the same side cases and the top case, just like the RT). I just returned from a 1,300 mile round trip to visit the Barber Motorsorts Museum near Birmingham, AL. A great place to visit if you love motorcycles.

Based on an article in Motorcycle Consumer News, there has been a change in the front steering on the 2011 R1200R compared to the 2010 R1200R. I cannot find that issue and I cannot remember the exact changes, but the changes were made to give better control and greater feedback to the rider. No mention was made about the 2011 R1200RT. By the way, the best handling RT that I have ever owned was the R1100RT. I liked it better than the R1200RT.

    R12R handling

Said it before & now again.

Q: I had an 1150R for the past few years and thought "what could be better than this?"

A: the 07 R12R I just picked up. The handling is fantastic, it is lighter than the 1150 and it has 23 added horses. I can't begin to describe how much fun this one is to ride! The perfect combination of great technology and a bit of muscle; of touring comfort and agility around town; just a great ride!
