    How to Access/Change the Air Filter - 2011 R1200GSA

    I. Tools Needed
    1. T-20 Torx Socket
    2. Ratchet and Extender

    II. Remove Seats

    III. Remove Panels from right side of the motorcycle
    1. Start with the long panel that has the BMW badge on it.
    i. Remove the (3) screws.
    ii. NOTE: The screw closest to the rider (under the #2 in 1200, is longer).

    2. Remove the little black piece below the silver panel
    i. There is (1) screw and (2) rubber grommets.
    ii. NOTE: The screw on right side black piece is longer than the others; however, it is shorter than the ÔÇ£longerÔÇØ screw from the BMW badge body panel.

    3. Remove the Silver ÔÇ£GSÔÇØ panel.
    i. There are (2) screws holding it in place.

    4. The air filter intake is held in place by (2) clips and (1) rubber grommet.
    i. Depress the latches and slide them outward.
    1. This may require the use of a small flat screwdriver.
    ii. Take two hands and grab the intake. Place one hand closer to the front of the bike near the grommet and place the other at the latches.

    iii. Pull straight outward; the grommet may take some force.
    iv. NOTE: You may need to wiggle or squeeze the filter to remove/insert it into the housing

    IV. Reverse the steps to put the bike together
    a. NOTE: Make sure to square up the ÔÇ£cÔÇØ clips that the screws all go into. Some of them may have shifted when removing the body panels.
    b. NOTE: The silver ÔÇ£GSÔÇØ panel has a dimple on the top of it which secures under the top engine/gas tank body panel.
