Josh and I are doing a little Brainstorming for the front fender, remember it will be completely white to match the stripe, we thought about adding a strip down the fender to match the stripe on the tank and tail, but our stripe is going to be beefy and too wide, so as we did with the Porsche GT Mirror on the fender, it will be completely white and solve that issue.
Given that you aren't creating a "two-up touring bike" intended to function in all weather. . .
I'd just start selectively and conservatively trimming that front fender until you and Josh find the sweet-spot so the right look joins the flow of this amazing machine. (The close-ups make me drool, already.) You're probably going to ride in mostly good weather, so fender-reach (protection of bike) isn't the main thing, and you've already stated that you won't be trying to keep her pristine all her life, anyway. Go for the looks, and whatever that aesthetic presentation dictates to your two sets of trained eyes.
Hey, if you take off too much, you can get a "fender stretcher" at Harbor Freight. They stock them right next to the "board-stretchers" used by carpenters for when they cut a board off too short. NOOOOOO problem! Still, easier to take her down slow, a little at a time.

Hit a junkyard, check out all the 19" front fenders for practically nothing, some even chrome! Pick up a dozen fender braces while at it, 'cause somewhere down the line they come in handy.
I think a short fender with a very shallow radius would look good, Shane.

Thanks guys for all the support, just ordered a bunch of new nuts, bolts, gaskets, rings, washers and the like from MAX BMW. It it can be replaced, we will get it replaced with new.

Just a little down time while Josh is off on a photoshoot, he lives a pretty cool life if you ask me, travels all over shooting anything from high end products, to naked supermodels to cars to bikes and does many concerts, he gets a front row seat to some of the coolest stuff.
I saw this photograph and just had to share immediately, I have all respect and admiration for Steve, he was a Porsche guy, if you have never seen Le Mans, I recommend it for just the sounds of the cars going around the track, amazing film, Steve was the man and it makes me smile to post this for you guys, the fact that it has a vintage bike in it does not hurt either.
