    Choke cable replacement

I replacing the choke lever and cables on an R90S. There is a "nub" on the end of the cable that goes into the slotted retainer inside the choke lever. I can't figure out how to slide the "nub past the slot. Any suggestions? What am I missing?

    choke cables

New choke cables are wonderful. If the choke lever is the same as on/6's, you must first completely dis-mantle the choke lever mechanism. When you remove the center screw, the outer cover and the thumb lever will lift off the base and the twin actuators will slide out of their holes. It will make perfect sense when dis-assembled. To get the choke mechanism off, you must get the left side air box half removed because the whole assembly is held in place with a lock-nut. On the install, it is helpful to remove the tank for un-obstructed space for routing. The goal is to not kink the mono-filament cables. I installed 2 sets last year, and the first set was about an hour of actual work and 4 or 5 hours of head scratching and vaguely profane muttering. Enjoy!

    Choke cable trick

Thanks - you just took a couple of hours of head scratching out of my project. I've got the tank removed and the airbox apart. I was stuck with the cable connection.
