Got a lot done this week....(few pics)

Well the weather around here has been unusually bad the past couple of weeks. I was able to get out last weekend and managed to have my first flat ever on a bike(over 20 years of riding).

So I carried my wheels down to Cycle gear and had a set of Michelin PR2's installed.

I then decided to spend the afternoon yesterday cleaning up the wheels/exhaust.

I received some light brackets for some auxiliary lights that I have on the way. I was surprised just how deep into the dash I had to go to get the brackets mounted. I also ran all the wiring needed for the lights but at this point this was about as far as I could go until some more parts came in.

So I turned my attention to my Givi 52L top case. My intentions are to swap this case from my '02 bmw rt and my 09 gs. I ordered a set of the addmore lights for the 52L case. Overall the install was fairly simple but the lenses didn't seal back against the case as well as I would have liked. So I took some clear rtv and sealed the lens covers up so if any rain hits the case it won't find it's way into the LED's. This took about a couple of hours taking my time. I am a definite fan of the positaps now that I have used them!

This is the case with the running lights on the RT
I installed the wiring on each of the bikes.]

Sorry I didn't take a pic of the brake lights but I am pretty pleased with the way they turned out.

One of the last things I did was install a Cee Baileys headlight guard on the RT. I have had it around the house for a few weeks but just got around to putting it on. I must say that I am pretty disappointed with the way it turned out. I opted to try the amber outer fog lens and clear headlight lens. The quality of the guard seems fine but there are several large gaps between the lenses. If I were to do this again then I would definitely go with a 1 piece unit.

I posted it in oilheads because almost all of the work I did was on the RT. I have a few parts that I am waiting on then I can get the dash all put back together. I hope to be riding it by end of this week.

Those lights on the Givi look like a good safety bonus.

How do they connect to power?

    And yes, nice garage floor!

Thanks! It was a Christmas present a couple years ago. We love the floor.

The link to their website is:http://www.admorelighting.com/

They are based in Canada so it takes a few days to get here. I bought two wiring harnesses. You basically just tap the brake light wire, left/right turn signal, switched hot, ground. It's not a big deal at all. It took me longer to remove the rear luggage on the GS than it did to install the wiring.

The main reason I bought it was because my sons ride with me some and I want more visibility especially when riding two up.

    Great looking floor.
Do you not own any automobiles?
I envy you your neat and tidy garage!
Mine always looks like the aftermath of some disaster, even after I clean it up!
