This is something I have put together for breaking the bead on motorcycle tires either in the shop or on the road. I would like your feedback.
The kit consist of two 18" tire spoons, a couple of 1/4" bolts w/wing nuts, two metal straps, and two blocks of wood.
The tool is assembled by sliding one wood block on each spoon, and then connecting the ends using the metal straps and bolts.
To use the tool, slip the smaller, square ended block onto one of the spoons and attach the straps using one of the bolts/wingnuts. Slip this under the tire and position the wood block under the rim.
Next, slip the larger block onto the other spoon with the angle away from the rim and connect the spoon to the straps.
Then press down on the top spoon.
This is the prototype, and there are some extra holes in the handles; ignore them.
Although it is an easy tool to duplicate, I have several people interested in purchasing the kit at $75+shipping. I'm getting ready to order spoons. If anybody is interested in getting in on the first run, drop me a PM or email: email@example.com
All feedback is appreciated.
