Trying to mount a Garmin Nuvi someplace other than suction cupped to the gas tank. Any ideas? I'm on an R1150RT and would like to mount it closer to the wind shield so I can see it without looking away from the road. Thanks group. James

Check out Migsel GPS mounts. I have my Nuvi mounted on one on my RT and have been very pleased with it. A bit spendy due to the exchange rates, but very well made and no permanent modifications required. I also like that you can add 2 more RAM arms for a total of 3 mounts up by your line of sight.

Check out Cyclegadgets.com. They should be able to fix you up with everything you need.
I have a Garmin Nuvi 350 mounted on my R1200RT, using a RAM system mount.
My mounting ball is atop the clutch resovoir - just one of many RAM options available to you.
Good Luck!

I went with the Migsel mount for my 1200RT. It is a bit pricey, but it is much more stable than the shelf I was using.

This is the unit I installed on my 1100RT......with a Big Mak map case tank bag I use a 5" Ram Mount Extension arm which holds the carrier for the Garmin 2720 GPS which I use........The system is great and is easily removed for storage /security. The center mounting position makes for an unobstucted veiw of the gps
