GS paralever arm on RS. Good or bad?

I just made and installed an adjustable paralever arm on my '96 RS. I love what it did to the handling, which makes me wonder why it's not done more often. Aside from the higher seat height for the inseam challenged, I can't see any disadvantages. Am I missing something?

You're not missing a thing. It's a really common modification with the R11S guys. In fact, I believe BMW shipped the bikes equipped with the sport suspension from the factory with a GS length paralever.

Dave- you believe correctly. you can tell if an S has the short arm by the mating angle of the rear hub to the shaft. "straight line" = short arm, "scrunched on top, extended on bottom" = long std arm.

I just finished a job which netted me a nice little bonus. Time to get on the digital camera band wagon. I'll try to get a couple of pictures taken and posted. Unfortunately, I've got to go out of town for a week so bear with me.

It did come out pretty cool, so I wouldn't mind showin' it off.

Makes me wonder how a shortened arm would work on a K1200RS
