I like the large parking lot for advanced rider training and the infield.
Is there a dirt field, lot or area were we could have GS events or is this going to be a touring white bearded male rally site ?A place where we can take alot of GS pictures for photo of the week and ON covers. Say 52 and another 12 large format. Its very important since Tour-a-tec USA is nearby.
Next prepare a proposal and send it to Chuck Manley...........I don't think he looks at the forum he is too busy out riding. Chuck is part of the Rally Selection Team.

I think the club needs 2000 hotel rooms available within 20-25 miles of the site. Allow beer sales................and lots of food.

I would love to attend a rally in that part of the country.

People who worry about a lack of air conditioning have obviously never been to the Pacific Northwest in the summer.
That's why we live here. We don't need air conditioning in the summer.
We do need webbed feet in the winter, but we all come pre-equipped with those.
If you don't want to pay jacked-up motel prices, you can rent a room in my house for $100 a night. I'm about 20 minutes from the Evergreen State Fairgrounds.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better venue in an area w/ AMAZING riding.
Fire roads for GS... Mountain passes for touring... Small towns on secondary roads for family outings or antiquing...
It really is an awesome area w/ soooo much to offer on all levels.

Funny, as this day was.
Anyway... Looking from above I think the huge field to the left can be utilized.
I would think for camping etc. There are plenty of treed grassy areas through out the site so... i know how that goes.
Local camping is awesome and there is a great RV site nearby on Ben Howard Road.
It's right on the Skykomish river. AWESOME SPOT for the RV'er.
Local hotels are like any town. Some are great... Some are 'section 8'.
If this place is chosen I'll write up what's what in the area.
Camping and GSing are primo so that's a given.
In case you couldn't see in the images... There is a food court and bathrooms through out the site. Out buildings abound for seminars etc.
...And a race track... So... A track day?
Anyway... Let's see what happens.

Downtown Seattle is 30 miles away as the crow flies, so that certainly won't be a problem.
Sultan, Bothell, Snohomish, Everett, Woodinville...
All of this will be covered if this site is ever chosen.
We should never have a "5R"

Have you looked into whether or not the Evergreen State Fairgrounds has availability for the third weekend in July every year? Seems a place like that might already be booked with annual events every weekend.

this venue info has been forwarded to the rally site search team and the process has begun. there will be discussions at the upcoming Board meeting and a site visit will be arranged.Not my 'yob main'.
I've done my part.
the site visit report employs a set of evaluative criteria that has been defined over the years. open dates are one of those criteria.
if all that checks out, the site search team makes a referral to the site selection team, and more formal talks with the venue get started. if those go as we need in terms of budget and other rally must-haves, a contact is signed and Rally Chairs selected.
this can happen reasonably fast, but sometimes it takes a while for a venue to fit into the rotation. that's why we like to have multiple options for sites within the various rotation areas. contracts fall through for lots of reasons and it is good to have options. (fwiw, that is how Redmond II came about)
we really need lots of people looking for and referring sites, and this forum is a great way to do that.
