    New member in North Carolina

Wanted to introduce myself now that I have been a member for a few months.
I started riding in mid - 2007 on a DR200SE and after 20,000 miles I figured it was time to upgrade to a larger touring motorcycle.

I joined BMWMOA to aid in my search for a R1150GSA. I have since picked up a 2006 R1150GSA it is now time to share my happiness...

Welcome to the forum Calvin. After 20,000 miles on 200, this has to seem like a whole new world. When you get a chance, you can check out the Oilhead section-some great info there. Ride safe, Gary

What part of Carolina? There are great GS roads up in the mountains. And great paved roads, too. Perfect for a GS.

I am assuming from your login that you are probably from central/eastern NC. If you don't know there are a number of local clubs - I have yet to check them out as newbie NC member.

When you have a chance, check out the "Off the Beaten Path" section of the form and watch out for GS Giant announcements.

New NC (WS/Greensboro area) member myself. I ride a F800S and would be interested to know if there are others in the area.

Smile A new member in Carolina!

Yes, there are a lot of BMW riders running around on state roads in NC. A good way for a Piedmont area BMW rider to meet folks is to make it to the Biker's Breakfast in Pittsboro. It is also known as The Feast of the Immaculate Consumption-- Check Visian post above. We had about 50 bikes there last Sunday, all sorts of brands and ages. This breakfast is on every Sunday, 9-12. This gathering has been going for about 23 years and a lot of folks have made it a special gathering of bikes. Lots of good routes nearby and I'm sure somebody will show you some of the better ones.
    Onward, through the fog!
