Chrysler's Slant 6 was used on lots of things. I grew up on a farm and our old Case combine had a slant 6 in it as well.
I can only hope that the new BMW 6 will be as reliable as the old Mopar.

The only Slant 6 (aka Leaning Tower of Power) we owned was in a '68 Dodge van. It used more oil than it did gasoline. I just hope the BMW version holds its oil better.

Call it anything but a slant six.... i hated that motor. I am mopar thru and thru, RB's are my favorite, but slant six's sucked. they had no hp, and were chryslers lame idea to get a six under the hood of a car having a low profile. i really doubt the new six will quit when going thru a water puddle such as the slant six did.
ill go with anything, well almost, platinum wing sounds too jap crappy.

Early models had a reputation for reliability, but were generally quite pedestrian. Had a later model and it was enough to turn away a dedicated Mopar fan. It had barely enough power to get out of its own way.
