Due to a family illness I am unable to attend the rally this year. Has anyone heard where next years rally will be?

Has anyone else experienced difficulty finding a room at Bloomsburg for the July 2011 Rally?
Rooms at the Hampton Inn in Bloomsburg and the Comfort Suites both showed as unavailable when I tried to register online.
I booked rooms at the Hampton Inn in Williamsport, since the rides we want to take will be west of the Bloomsburg area. Williamsport is about 40 miles west of Bloomsburg.
I just finished a nine day trip to WV, OH, PA and NY and traveled down route 15 through Williamsport, so I got a flavor for that area.
It may be worth it for folks to book early, if the rooms are all being taken now.

Hampton Inn just off Rt 81 near Hazleton Pa is a nice stop and the Top of the 80s restaurant is highly rated. If you base camp here you can take RT 93 down through the scenic valley and have the following route options.
#1. RT 93 to Berwick then take RT 11 south to Bloomsburg.
#2. As you head down the mountain on RT 93 make a left on Rock Glen Road which leads you to RT 339 then take it west into Bloomsburg. This road joins RT 487 before crossing the river into Bloomsburg. It is 25 miles of farm and woods to Bloomsburg.......nice pavement ! Just past your turn is a nice breakfast stop.....I need to add the proper name later or take the free breakfast at the hotel.
#3. Take RT 93 north towards Berwick then get on RT 80 West and follow the exits to the fairgrounds..............currently under construction but should be sorted by July 2011.
The Pine Barn Inn is nice in Danville about ten miles south of the fairgrounds. The only drawback is the local hospital noise from Life Flight. But there is a nice micro pub not far away.
One may wish to stay away from the Mom & Pops because the Natural Gas Drilling operators are staying in them under a long contracts with early noisy morning departures. This part of Pennsylvania is one of the top ten places to work in the USA based on the natural gas industry and the Casino in Wilkes-Barre.
BTW the Casino will have a huge hotel / resort built by rally time and I can get you down to Bloomsburg by way of RT 81 slab to back woods scenic. Nice horse racing, table games, great resturants etc etc.![]()
If one cannot command attention by one's admirable qualities one can at least be a nuisance
Hello Mr. Dean
IF you are arriving early there are nice sites close to the showers, rest rooms and exhibit halls as with past venues. Putting my bias aside I would say Bloomsburg will have the same available shade as past rally selections and this ride report will reflect that impression.. Please be mindful that the out buildings can offer sun and shade based on individual selection and the barns can offer opportunities to our stable members.
All the best

Statdawg, that looks like a great suggestion. Thank you.
For those interested, the C.F. Martin & Co. Guitar factory is not far from the rally to the South-East in Nazareth. Factory tours are offered as well as a museum.
They make some of worlds finest acoustic guitars. I'm hoping to pay them a visit.

A MAP of the rally grounds facility sooooo far in advance, I'm shocked. Never before has anyone done this so early. Cool! I'm getting the bug already and the GSA1200 has been notified another East Coaster is in its sights
. Ya'll going to be able to match some offroading over there in PA.? US GSers are hungry for it too
, so somebody keep this GS ball rolling...Creeks, trails and the like are food for GSs

the Holiday Inn Express in Bloomsburg will take phone reservations but i was told they can't make online reservations a year in advance.
Being so close to major Eastern cities, and with the high population concentration, the attendance numbers should be huge!
