Which of the 5 dealers would you recommend?

By the time I get to Redmond I will need a 6K mile service performed on my new GSA. Of the 5 BMW dealers around Redmond, which would the locals recommend?

    1) BMW Motorcycles of Western Oregon

    2) Salem Honda-BMW-Ducati

    3) Portland Motorcycle Company, Inc.

    4) BMW Motorcycles of Western Oregon

    5) Hansen's Exclusive BMW, Inc

I'm coming from NJ, passing Denver, then crossing over to San Francisco, then North along the Pacific Highway to Oregon. The way back will be through Targhee NF, Yellowstone NP, Grand Teton NP, etc. I can't wait!

    Thanks,

    Paul

I'm not local but for years and years Hansen's has had an excellent reputation known all across the country.

Whichever one you pick be sure to call and get an appointmemt.
    Call maybe two months ahead.
All of the dealers will be swamped and most will try to help people with trouble on the road but getting a routine service without a appiontment may not be good.

I usually have my service done at BMW Western Oregon in Eugene - they are great people to work with and I have never had any problems with the work they have done for me. Last time around it was 30,000 mile service plus new battery, tires, Ohlins, Remus exhaust, gas tank sensor and brake fluid swap. Not a hitch and all working perfectly.

I talked with the owner while having my 30,000 mile service about a month ago and she mentioned that they will be running a trailer back and forth from the Rally for service work - two if the demand is high enough. They do the service work for the local police Beemers so they are geared up for this and have been doing it for quite awhile. Their other store in Tigard, OR is just as good if you are going through Portland.

Eugene, OR - 541.338.0269 - Hugo is the service manager - The Eugene store is about 130 miles +- from Redmond.

    Tigard, OR - 503.597.7097

Either store is a nice ride over Santiam Pass!!

+1 for Tigard. I needed a tire two years ago while passing through. Called them the night before. They got me in and out and the waiting room was almost as comfortable as my couch back home.

BMWOR, either shop, hands down. Other stores, Hansen and Salem, have heard good things about and would take my bike there if need be. Portland Motorcycle, would not take any bike there that I actually planned on riding.

No direct experience but I've heard nothing but outstanding comments regarding Hansen's. Since you are only getting a service you might also want to check out independents. Two that have received unquestionably positive comments from those I've spoken with are Steve Prokop, owner of Bavarian Motorcycle Service in Dundee and Daric Cheshire, owner of Cheshire Motorsports in Portland.

A great store but $60.96 to mount a tire. Not two tires....but ONE tire. If new rubber is on your menu, it might be best to check around. Maybe an independent will be mounting tires at the rally.
