Adding lights on R1200GS with Aeroflow

I have an Aeroflow screen on my 2008 R1200GS. I'm having difficulty finding mounting options for additional lighting on the front of the bike. Purpose is for being seen better, not night riding. Caliper mounts are certainly an option, as are fork mounts. I have not ruled either out. I was thinking that a higher mounting position may be more desirable, but the way the lower portion of the Aeroflow is made has me pulling my hair out. I wondered if anyone had any suggestions on a mount that will work with the Aeroflow, your opinions on caliper mounts, and the capability of fork mounts to withstand force and vibrations. Thanks very much.

We use caliper mounting for the visibility factor as it creates the triangle like trains use. Have mounted them high but all your lights blend together as one from a distance as seen by other oncoming traffic.

Have friends with great upper driving/visibility lights mounted up near the headlight...just look like one big light in the mirror...to me We use MotoLights on most of ours...but also have Piaa 1100X on one bike using home built brackets.

Have extra driving lights up high on the forks of my GS with brackets from:

I have the same bike & aeroflow w/s. I installed the small piaa lights on my engine guards ( hepco-becker )and they seem to work fine. I still wish I could add the larger ones up high as well but have run into the same problem. Will post some pics soon.

Thank you Mark. Those lights look good on your bike. One small problem......I don't have crash bars. Thanks for trying to help.

    Sorry,didn't realize that.
I still wish Aeroflow would come up with some for the 08s. I ask them not long ago & they said they didn't have a test bike in there shop at this time, maybe later?

    Aeroflow Mounts

Aeroflow makes and sells a mount kit just for that purpose. The kit mounts just below the lower screen and works great with the PIAA HID. I think I still have mine laying around here (sold my 07 GS). If interested, e-mail me at wmchardy@winstream.net.

They don't have a light mount for models after 2007. Hopefully that will change.
