    An old oil thread

This thread appeared on a Ducati site in '06. It is a fascinating and long thread whose principal contributor is an engineer who expresses a great deal of information
in a readable and understandable manner.

Don't chew me up and spit me out until you look at it (at least the 1st 3 pages).

When all is said and done, more will be said than done when it comes to oil for motorcycles.

It is a religious experience where people do not want to discuss facts, only their own habits and customs which they will not change (pun intended).

But it is always good for a mid-winter diversion!!!

There are 3 non debatable things, religion, politics and motor oil (especially 2 stroke outboard motor oil).

Has anyone noticed? Regardless of the kind, brand or cost of the oil, it seems to work for almost everyone. Why are we arguing? It doesn't seem to matter. Some people feel better if they use the "best" or most expensive.
