The New R 1200 GS

I haven't checked with my dealer lately - actually, since he told me the new, improved, up to date, take-it-or-leave-it price of an F650GS with basics is $12,500+/-.

What is this 'looks the same, but just read the words' bike gonna cost? Is it possible that most of the features are intended to disguise the need to cover for the ever-increasing value of the Euro over the US$?

Pardon the cynicism, but what BMW really needs to provide at a reasonable cost is a kit for raising the height of the rider by 3", a leg lengthener to 34", and spoked wheels at no extra charge. Oh, and a Russell-designed seat as standard, instead of the cutie appearance model with the built in pain-inducers.

Now, don't get all vicious, and such. I'm not gonna buy one, no matter.

Those photos posted in the article on the MOA front page appears to show some new riding gear. I don't see that suit on the BMW website. It looks good on that red GS!

BMW has made some changes to their apparel line for 2010, including a new Rallye 3 suit to replace the Rallye 2 Pro. I suspect that's what you are referring to. The details are available on the BMW Group PressClub Global website (same place where you find the press kits for the new RT and GS).
